Chadderton Laser Hair Removal Clinic

How Diode Laser Hair Removal works

Diode lasers use specific wavelengths of light that is absorbed by the melanin in the hair follicle. These waves of light destroy the root and blood flow to the hair follicle, thus disabling the hair growth permanently, whilst avoiding the surrounding tissue.

Treatments are fast and pain-free using Cryo skin cooling system, working on all hair types (excluding grey and light blonde hairs). After laser treatment, the hair will begin to fall out over the next 5 - 14 days and may continue for weeks, leaving the skin hair free and completely smooth.

6-10 treatments are required depending on hair growth and cycle.

The diode laser is not IPL - it is more advanced working directly to the hair meaning fewer treatments that are a lot less painful.

Payment Plans
I am offering a fantastic payment plan for a course of six laser hair removal treatments.
Spread the cost of a discounted course by simply paying for the first two treatments upfront and then paying for one treatment over the next 4 visits.

So, for example, if you were having a course of 6 for a full face laser hair removal, priced at £370, I would ask for £125 upfront to cover the first two treatments and then £62 at each of the last four appointments making it more manageable and easily affordable for you.

Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some frequently asked questions regarding diode laser hair removal but if you have any other questions whatsoever, please do not hesitate to contact me (all contact details can be found on the Contact page).

What happens during a consultation?

All consultations are free with no obligation, and last for an average of 30 minutes.

Before any treatments can commence, a full and thorough consultation is performed, including a patch test.

This consultation will enable me to assess your hair and skin type and check if there are any contra-indications which may potentially hinder your treatment. If you take medication for any reason, please bring the name of them along with you.

If possible, please do not shave the hair, or at least leave a small patch visible. It is preferrable that the hair is not waxed, threaded or tweezed two weeks prior to your first treatment.

What do I do before treatment?

The hair should be shaved on the day of or the day before treatment. You must not wax, thread or tweeze any of the hairs being treated as this will disrupt their natural growing stage.

The skin should be clean of fake tan, make up, moisturisers or deodorant. Sun exposure should be avoided two weeks prior to and two weeks post treatment, and no sun factor used on area being treated on the day of treatment.

In other words, your skin should be as natural as possible in order to maximise the effects of the diode laser hair removal treatment.

How does the diode laser hair removal work?

The diode laser works using photo-thermolysis, which is absorption of light to the melanin of the hair. The light is then converted into heat which then causes the destruction of the proteins surrounding the follicle responsible for growth of new hair.

Once the hair has been destroyed, it will not grow back.

Can all hair types be treated?

The diode laser works on hair colours dark blonde to black as the melanin absorbs the heat from the laser, and so, in order for the hair removal treatment to be effective, the hair needs to have melanin present. It is for this reason that grey hairs or light blond will not be effective.

The diode laser also works effectively on darker skin types including Asian and tanned skin - this is because the lasers work on different wavelengths, making the treatment safe and effective for most skin types.

How many treatments will I need?

The hair alternates between periods of growth (anagen) and no growth (telogen) and each hair is in a different phase of growth.

During a hair removal session, all of the hairs are targeted, with no way of knowing in which phase of growth they are in. The hair needs to be in the active growing stage (anagen) for treatment to be effective.

Therefore, a series of laser sessions is always necessary. How many sessions are needed varies on an individual basis and depends upon hair and skin type, as well as hormonal conditions.

A course of 6 sessions is average but thicker hair may require more sessions. During each session, the hairs that are in anagen stage will be destroyed and will not grow back.

How much time should I leave between treatments?

For facial hair, treatments are usually performed once every 4 weeks.

For body hair, treatments are usually performed every 6-8 weeks.

What happens during and after the treatment?

The treatment is pain free because of the cooling technology, keeping the skin a cool temperature during the treatment.

After the treatment, you will notice your hairs falling out between 5 days and 6 weeks later.
